The GrAd Lab Classes at Concord Hill ES!

The Great Adventure Lab is an after-school science enrichment program.  We’ve taught thousands of kids how to write their first robotics or video game programs (or both!). We do it all with a student-to-adult ratio of 7:1 for most classes. (You can find full descriptions, reviews and photos of all our classes and birthday parties at http://thegreatadventurelab.com.

We’ll start each class with a storybook and then do hands-on science experiments to test and recreate story elements! For instance, when we read Jon Scieszka's The True Story of The 3 Little Pigs students test the power of wind versus our own construction techniques! We’ll also launch model planes, build and erupt volcanoes, and make our own “oobleck” (a non-Newtonian fluid—similar to slime)!

Storybook Science classes A, B, C and D follow the same format with new books and experiments. Classes may be taken in any order but may not be repeated.

Areas of Exploration: Aerodynamics, Biology, Physics, Geology, Paleontology, Chemistry, Engineering

Class Format: Eleven 60-min. meetings, once per week.

Tuition: $180 tuition + $47 supply fee + $25 room rental fee per student = $252; min 11 / max 14 students. Parent aide for full class gets free tuition.
